Ecuador 6-13-2023 Quilotoa

We cross the valley and head up the otherside.  The hills are covered in farms across the hill tops.  Music rocks the hills and valley from one farm driving us on.  We finally find an unused road between fields on a mountain pass to camp on.

Rock to climb

Morning has us climbing the rock above camp.  Then an easy ride down to a trekking hostel where we camp on the lawn as the hostel was fully booked.  We find we are not alone on the cycle route meeting there a two couples one French and the other British.

Laguna Quilotoa

Morning has us going up and down over hills.  Afternoon has us climbing up to the volcano’s rim.  Checkout indigenous campground at volcano and were greeted with an immediate demand for 2 dollars.  We moved on.  A good bit of pushing and team work gets the bikes to the rim for a spectacular camp.  Just need to keep everything tied down to avoid them blowing over the rim of Quilotoa.

Nemo Matress leaking again

Short morning down hill of six miles and then it is climbing to 13500ft.  Get in some mattress repair once again as the seams are failing.  Have kids following us with our speedy pace.  End the day camping above the road.

Love and Kisses

Steve
