Karmoy

Early the next morning I looked at the gray sky and the rain then went back to sleep. Found over a cup of water in floor of the tent. The tent floor works great keeping the water out and in. Down sleeping bag was only damp. Hike up to Preikestolen. Great hike, but the advertisement was false as you can see from their picture and mine. When I got up to Preikestolen there was only one other person. As I was walking down I came across hundreds of hiker heading for the view. Trail was made of big rocks that were not flat, but they worked and helped as much of the trial had water features. Then I headed back Stravanger hostel and they did have my towel (the guide always recommends having a towel). Then headed north and started my Island hoping. Found that coast was filled with houses so no good camping. So I turned inland on a road across the island. As soon as the houses stopped it was posted for no camping as the lakes were for drinking water. Finally found a nice spot out on the moor.

Preikestolen

So after spending a sunny day in Stavanger Museums I am off riding in the rain.  Heading to pupit Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) I got a late start as I head out.  I got to the base of the trail late so I decided to get an early start in the morning.  Found that the dripping in my tent was getting bad.  When I went for my towel I remembered it was drying back at the hostel.  As there were not good places to put the tarp over the tent and the water coming through the all the walls I just put the tarp over the sleeping bag.

Stavager

Toured museums and had a restful day. Touring the petro museum dedicated to under water oil drilling found the crew was not all taking there cod liver oil. Just a piece of a daric that was damaged during there worst disaster. Had to try there emergency escape chute. I did find a new rear sprocket for the bike with a full set of teeth. Climbing hills will be easier and slower.

Stavager

As the hill flatted out I pick up the pace.  There was a strong scent cow in the area that moved me on.  The Germans stationed at this lighthouse were more inspired.  Yes you can ride the swing bridge on a full loaded bike.

Egersund

So these 100 year old homes were under a cliff. Sort of like Mesa Verdi but different. They also placed some art high on the cliff as it belonged there. Have notice that all the trees are leaning towards where I came from. That explains the head wind everyday.

Ana-Sira

I started late as I waited for the rain to clear.  Yes with a mail box, a dock and a house across the lake you can have your own paradise.  Did not go far, as I found a great place on top of a hill. Best camp yet with lots of pictures from my porch.
